Reasonable Upper Bounds Rainfall Forecast:
- This map displays a reasonable upper bound for rainfall totals across the area based on the current forecast
- These totals are NOT likely to be realized at all locations, but some areas COULD see rainfall totals nearing 10 inches from Sunday through Tuesday
Excessive Rainfall Outlooks:
- There is a marginal to slight risk of excessive rainfall leading to flash flooding on Sunday and a slight risk of excessive rainfall leading to flash flooding on Monday across all of southeast Louisiana and southern Mississippi
- Heavy rain will likely lead to street flooding in some areas, especially urban, low lying, and poor drainage areas. Some flash flooding will be possible, leading to impassable roads and/or a few structures flooded.
Taking all this into account, there is a marginal to slight risk of flash flooding tomorrow and a slight risk on Monday. Though the area of greatest threat will shift westward on Tuesday some locally heavy rain will remain possible in our area.
