You have all been waiting...Izzo's is OPENING tomorrow, December 20th at 11:00AM for their soft opening! There will be a grand opening later in January with prizes and giveaways!


Tomorrow is the last day to drop off Santa letters! He wants to make sure his returned letters are delivered before Christmas. Please drop off your letters in Santa's mailbox by 4:00PM on Tuesday, December 19th. Merry Christmas!

**UPDATE** Road is Open**
Alert: To our citizens of Central who travel to and from our city via Flannery Road. Please avoid Flannery and use an alternate route. The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office is working a major accident in the 4000 block. Flannery will be completely shut down for the next couple of hours. We will inform the public when it is back open. Please say a prayer for the victims.

***Road Closure Update*** Sullivan Road has reopened.

***ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE***
The Sullivan Road closure appears to be for an extended period of time, possibly until late tonite as we await utility crews to get on scene and assess and repair the damage. Area residents and businesses are likely to experience power outages.

Sullivan Road between Hooper and Wax Roads is closed due to a traffic crash. Utility lines appear to be down. CPD is on scene and will have the roadway open as soon as possible. Please seek alternate routes

Due to the weather, we are moving the Christmas Tree Lighting and fireworks show to TOMORROW NIGHT! Same time (6:00p.m.), same place (corner of Hooper & Sullivan), on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2ND!
Y'all come on out to hear CHS Jazz Band and don't forget your cameras for the photo op to donate to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center!


Rain or shine, the parade will be rolling at 11AM. Get there early in case the roads close earlier and to grab your spot. Be ready to catch some goodies!

While we will be having fun lighting up Central, we decided to light up the sky too! We're having a firework show during our Christmas tree lighting this Friday, December 1st and we want everyone there!
Come enjoy live music from CHS Jazz Band, a short reading from the Mayor, watch the display of animated lights put together by Glimpses of Light, and an unbelievable firework show by Geaux Pyro.

On December 1, 2023, at the City of Central Christmas tree lighting, there is going to be a restored international Harvester tractor done by JP Pruitt and Ivan Robertson, two local residents. The tractor will be decorated and lit up for Christmas! This will be a fun family photo opportunity for the holidays. There will be a QR code available for donations to help the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center.
