***Road Closure Update*** Sullivan Road has reopened.

***ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE*** The Sullivan Road closure appears to be for an extended period of time, possibly until late tonite as we await utility crews to get on scene and assess and repair the damage. Area residents and businesses are likely to experience power outages.

***ROAD CLOSURE*** Sullivan Road between Hooper and Wax Roads is closed due to a traffic crash. Utility lines appear to be down. CPD is on scene and will have the roadway open as soon as possible. Please seek alternate routes

Due to the weather, we are moving the Christmas Tree Lighting and fireworks show to TOMORROW NIGHT! Same time (6:00p.m.), same place (corner of Hooper & Sullivan), on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2ND! Y'all come on out to hear CHS Jazz Band and don't forget your cameras for the photo op to donate to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center!

Rain or shine, the parade will be rolling at 11AM. Get there early in case the roads close earlier and to grab your spot. Be ready to catch some goodies!

While we will be having fun lighting up Central, we decided to light up the sky too! We're having a firework show during our Christmas tree lighting this Friday, December 1st and we want everyone there! Come enjoy live music from CHS Jazz Band, a short reading from the Mayor, watch the display of animated lights put together by Glimpses of Light, and an unbelievable firework show by Geaux Pyro. 📸Don’t forget your cameras! On December 1, 2023, at the City of Central Christmas tree lighting, there is going to be a restored international Harvester tractor done by JP Pruitt and Ivan Robertson, two local residents. The tractor will be decorated and lit up for Christmas! This will be a fun family photo opportunity for the holidays. There will be a QR code available for donations to help the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center. 🎄Central's Shop Small Christmas Campaign has its official participating businesses listed below. 🌟This holiday season any time you go to one of the below businesses from November 18th-December 23rd and spend money you will receive a punch card and it will be punched for the amount you spent. Drop your cards off at the Chamber Office for a chance to win up to $1,500. Drawing will be held the first week of January. 🎁Let's get out and support our local Central businesses.

NATIONAL FIRST RESPONDERS DAY! First responders dedicate their lives to save lives. They are the people who run toward a crisis while the rest of the world flees. They are firefighters, police, emergency medical technicians (EMT) paramedics, dispatchers, military, and nurses. In an emergency, they're the first on the scene. These dedicated professionals answer the call when a crisis arises, often putting their own lives on the line. They are an integral part of our communities, and their sacrifices go beyond the hours they work. First responders have all our support here in the City of Central. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO!

To everyone who came out to Fall Fest yesterday, THANK YOU! We hope you had an amazing time, and we look forward to continuing these types of events for our community. Chris Denicola, a Scout with Troop 322 and a senior at Central High School, designed and built a flag retirement box for our community. You may now place your old, tattered and worn American flags inside the box that is placed outside city hall at 13421 Hooper Rd. Suite 8. Thank you to Mayor Wade Evans, CCSS Superintendent Jason Fountain, Councilman Josh Roy, and Veteran Perry Whitney for their attendance to this special ceremony.
