With ever-busy lives, we often forget that simple things can make a difference. National Common Courtesy Day is a great way to remind ourselves that the world is better off when we show gratitude and graciousness in both big and small ways. Hey, it only takes a small gesture to be a big hero. Remember to say “please” and “thank you”. It could make a world of difference! Introduce yourself to someone new or shy, remember the small actions, or donate time or money to a meaningful cause (or a friend). Did you know there is scientific evidence that shows doing something good for others benefits your health? #NationalCommonCourtesyDay #pleaseandthankyou #useyourmanners #becourteous #acommunitythatcares

Dave Co. Plumbing has been working on this project since the beginning of the year with the LSU AgCenter & Little Free Pantry Louisiana. It is now installed at their location at 13366 Hooper Road. The Little Free Pantry Initiative by Louisiana resident Ethan Jeffus is an inspiring story of how one person can make a big impact in the lives of countless individuals. Ethan was inspired to install Little Pantries throughout the state after working as a volunteer at a local food pantry with his mom. 8 Little Pantries have been installed with 10 additional pantries in production for this year. Ethan says the initiative not only offers free food, but it is also a way to give back, "Getting involved with this project is as simple as finding the Little Free Pantry closest to you, stocking it, and spreading the word about this project to those in need..Getting involved can also include working with us to get a new Little Free Pantry location." Love the Boot Week is coming up on April 20-28.... This week isn't just about picking up litter. It's about drawing attention to our state's litter problem and promoting litter prevention. Did you know that Keep Louisiana Beautiful, with the support of the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, published the Louisiana Litter Study last year? As part of this study, the annual cost of litter abatement, roadside litter assessment statistics, and data on the public perception of litter were examined. The study found that Louisiana roadways have approximately 143.8 million pieces of litter, with interstates being the most littered type of roadway, with an average of 10,178 pieces of litter per mile. This is an alarming figure that highlights the need for all of us to take action to keep our state clean. So, this Love the Boot Week, let's spread the message of #Knowthefacts and encourage everyone to join us in keeping Louisiana beautiful. Register now or sign up to volunteer at lovetheboot.org!
