- An Arctic airmass will move in beginning Sunday and will impact the entire area through much of the work week.
- Cold Weather Advisories will be needed and Extreme Cold Warnings cannot be ruled out.
- Sunday night through Monday morning.
- Cold air continues to surge into the area. That along with strong winds will create very bitter conditions for much if not all of the area.
- 12 hours possible below freezing overnight.
- We should see a slight warm up during the day Monday but not much.
- Monday night through Tuesday morning.
- 14 hours possible below freezing overnight.
- Greatest uncertainty in this time frame as the duration for below freezing could be much longer.
- If precipitation moves in early in the morning or even thick cloud cover we will not warm up much during the day.
- 22% probability of at least 0.01” ice accumulation.
- 48% probability of at least 0.1” snow accumulation.
- Tuesday night through Wednesday.
- 15 hours possible below freezing overnight.
- One more night of bitterly cold temperatures and prolonged freezing conditions.
- Still a HIGHLY uncertain situation for three reasons.
- 5-7 days away.
- Models have been shifting around pretty significantly and will continue to do so.
- Timing of cold air and moisture return.
- Confidence is still very low on Winter Weather. Expect the probabilities of winter precipitation to vary possibly significantly for the next few days.
