Hurricane Francine Emergency Declaration Expiration Notice

Effective 12:00 p.m. today, Mayor Wade Evans will officially end the emergency declaration for the City of Central, Louisiana, in response to Hurricane Francine. After thorough assessments, city officials and emergency management teams have determined that the immediate threat to life and property has subsided. Recovery efforts are well underway, and public services have resumed normal operations.

While the formal state of emergency is lifted, residents are encouraged to remain cautious as cleanup and restoration work continues. The City of Central urges the public to place storm debris at the roadside for collection, which is expected to begin in approximately two weeks. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our community during this time.

The City thanks all first responders, public works teams, and volunteers for their tireless efforts throughout the storm and recovery process.

Wade Evans, Mayor
