Please see the below weather update from the National Weather Service New Orleans / Baton Rouge.

 

  • East Baton Rouge Parish is under an Excessive Heat Warning today through 7:00 PM tonight.
  • Another Excessive Heat Warning has been issued for our area tomorrow from 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM. Heat indices of up to 118 degrees are possible. 
  • Less than a 40% chance of rain is forecasted for our area over the next two days.
  • Rain chances increase for our area on Wednesday with a 60% chance of rainfall.
  • Thursday (July 4th) there is a 40% chance of rainfall during the day for our area with highs in the mid-90s. Drier weather is currently forecasted for Thursday evening.
  • weatherThe National Hurricane Center (NHC) is continuing to track Hurricane Beryl. 
  • Beryl made landfall in the Grenadine Monday as a Category 4 hurricane. Hurricane Beryl is forecast to remain a powerful hurricane as it moves across the Caribbean Sean later this week.
  • The NHC is forecasting Beryl to gradually weaken as it moves through the Caribbean due to wind shear and drier air.
  • Beryl is currently forecasted to downgrade to a Tropical Storm as it makes landfall in Mexico on Friday and moves into the lower Gulf of Mexico on Saturday. weatherweather
