CENTRAL, La. – The City of Central has begun an update to its Comprehensive Master Plan, Central 2045: A Plan for the Future. On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, the City will kick-off the plan update process at the Central Community School System Board Conference Room, located at
11576 Sullivan Road, from 6 – 7:30 p.m.
“We want to build upon the foundations established by the 2010 Land Use Plan efforts of decades past. CENTRAL 2045 is the general plan for land use and policies intended to guide and address the city's current and future needs,” said Mayor Wade Evans.
The CENTRAL 2045 plan encapsulates a vision for the future of our community. As technology advances, populations shift, and resiliency becomes more frequent, the CENTRAL 2045 plan must be examined and revised to maintain relevancy. This update cycle is the opportunity to consider our current situation and contribute your voice to the conversation.
“All community members are encouraged to participate in this plan update process,” said Evans, “and may do so by attending open house events in locations across the city.”
The multi-chapter CENTRAL 2045 includes several elements addressing topics such as land use, housing, infrastructure, economic development, healthy communities, etc.
