Burn Ban Now in Effect
 Because of the extremely dry conditions, Fire Chief Bill Porche has issued a Burn Ban for the Central Fire District. It is already against parish ordinance to burn unless certain conditions are met. For complete details, visit Central Fire Dept.'s Web site.

 On July 19, the Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Central Woods subdivision in a neighborhood meet and greet in the newly restored Kolby BREC park. It is the sheriff's desire to host a barbeque and they need the support of local businesses to help provide the resources necessary to make this event a success.
