EBR Sheriff asks for your donations in Central Woods on July 19

The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office is passionately dedicated to serving the citizens of East Baton Rouge Parish. The Community Services Division assists residents in establishing Neighborhood Watch programs.  Through these programs, residents bond together to form a safer and stronger neighborhood.

Central Woods subdivision formed a Neighborhood Watch Program in January 2009 after the area began to see an increase in drug activity and crime. Since its establishment, the citizens have worked with the Central City Mayor, BREC, and the Sheriff's Office in cleaning and restoring the Kolby BREC Park, which is located in the subdivision. The area has also seen a decrease in drug activity and crime due to the proactive residents who are determined to make a difference in their community.

On July 19, the Sheriff's Office is assisting the subdivision in a neighborhood meet and greet in the newly restored park. It is our desire to host a barbeque. We need the support of local businesses to help provide the resources necessary to make this event a success.

Please know that any contributions you make will positively impact the Central Woods Subdivision and the City of Central. Your contribution will also be recognized in promotional materials and will be acknowledged at the event.

There are many organizations seeking support for worthy causes, but I hope that you will take this opportunity to support a community who desires to make a difference.
